Chandigarh Police has become fully alert in the city on the arrival of Republic Day, by which 24-hour vigilance is being maintained in the city. There, the security arrangements in the city are being reviewed from time to time by the higher authorities. Despite the vigilance of the police, as soon as information was received that a bomb had been found in the Hotel Shivalik View located in Sector-17, there was an atmosphere of panic in the area.
As soon as the information about this was received, the team of Operation Cell of Chandigarh Police reached the Hotel Shivalik View along with Bomb Sukoid and Dog Sukoid and started the investigation. This operation of the police turned out to be a ‘mock drill’. According to the information received, the police informed the control room about the bomb blast in Hotel Shivalik View.
On receiving the information, the team of Operation Cell of Chandigarh Police evacuated Hotel Shivalik View and surrounded it from all sides. On this occasion, the team of Bomb Sukoid and Dog Sukoid conducted a thorough investigation. During the checking, the police recovered a fake bomb, which was taken into possession by the police. This bomb was destroyed by the police at the police line located at Sector-26.
On this occasion, a large number of security personnel including Civil Defence, Mobile Forensic, Fire Brigade, Ambulance and Traffic Wing of Sector-16 Hospital were present. The police officer urged people to immediately inform the police if they see any unknown person or object.
