A woman in a car was killed and five people, including three children, were injured in a road accident on the Moga-Amritsar highway last night. All these injured have been admitted to a private hospital in Kot Ise Khan. According to information, a family from the nearby village of Bogewala was returning to the village in their car number (PB 08CC 5278) after attending a wedding ceremony last night at around 8 o’clock. When his car reached near the police post near village Baghele Wala, it collided with a tractor trolley full of timber going ahead. The collision was so violent that the car was badly damaged. After the accident, the tractor driver escaped from the spot. The injured were pulled out of the car by the people of nearby houses after a struggle. Car rider Simranjit Kaur (32) died on the spot. The car driver Manpreet Singh, his elderly mother and three children have been admitted to a private hospital in Kot Ise Khan with injuries. Anwar Masih, in-charge of Baghelewala police post, said that no action was taken due to the refusal of the family members of the accident family to take any police action against the tractor driver.
