Congress party candidate Varun Sharma won the by-election of Municipal Council ward number 16 today with a margin of 22 votes over his rival Aam Aadmi Party candidate Hardeep Singh Bedi. Congress candidate Varun Sharma got 519 votes and Aam Aadmi Party candidate Hardeep Singh Bedi got 497 votes. It is to be mentioned that Prashotam Lal Sharma, who was the winner from the Congress party, died in July 2022 due to which the seat of ward number 16 became vacant. Congress workers celebrated after this victory.
