The national capital and several states of North India including Punjab and Haryana have experienced cold weather today due to rain. Farmers are worried due to heavy hailstorm in many places in Punjab and Haryana. Although the rains may prove to be a boon for the wheat crop, there is also a fear of crop damage due to hail accompanied by the rains.
Today, along with rain throughout the day, hail at many places has affected the crops of kinnu, guava and plum. The hailstorms in many areas of Punjab and Haryana have also worried the vegetable growers. In the fields where there is fear that the crops of potatoes and peas will be affected, due to the hail, the fruits of berries have also fallen on the ground.
Information received from the Meteorological Department, it rained in New Delhi for about two and a half to three hours, due to which ‘Orange Alert’ was issued in Delhi. Traffic was also affected in many areas due to rain. Similarly, people were forced to sit indoors due to heavy rains in Punjab and neighboring states of Haryana. Along with rain, there were hailstorms in many areas of Mohali, Patiala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Sri Muktsar Sahib, Fazilka districts of Punjab. -News-Patiala
Due to rain, Rajasthan is in the bosom of cold
Jaipur: Rajasthan remained under the grip of cold weather as Western Disturbance lashed many places with light to moderate rains, the Meteorological Department said. According to the information received, many areas including Sikar, Ajmer, Jhunjhunu, Nagaur, Churu and Hanumangarh districts have received rain in the last 24 hours. According to the Meteorological Department, dense fog prevailed in many parts of the state, due to which the visibility was affected. Light to moderate rain and hailstorm at isolated places over Kota, Jaipur, Ajmer, Bharatpur, Udaipur divisions and parts of Shekhawati division due to influence of new Western Disturbance. -News-Patiala
