US President-elect Donald Trump has reiterated his intention to impose reciprocal tariffs in return for New Delhi’s imposition of ‘excessive taxes’ on imports of certain US products. “In turn, if they tax us, we tax them the same amount,” Trump told reporters on Monday. They tax us. We tax them. And they tax us. “In almost all cases, they’re taxing us, but we’re not taxing them,” Trump said in response to a question about a potential trade deal with China.
