Rain alert- The Meteorological Department has issued a fog alert in the plains as well as in the northeastern states. The Meteorological Department has said that dense to very dense fog can be seen in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Rajasthan in the morning and late at night. Along with this, dense fog alert has been issued in Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura from today till January 2.
An alert has been issued for rain on January 1-2 in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan including Delhi NCR. The Meteorological Department said that light rain was recorded in some areas of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal.
According to the Meteorological Department, the temperature may drop by 4 to 6 degrees Celsius in the West Uttar Pradesh and surrounding NCR region in the next 5 days. Along with this, by January 1, there is a possibility that the temperature will fall by three to four degrees Celsius in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and Rajasthan (heavy rain alert). The Meteorological Department said that in the next 24 hours, the temperature will drop by three to five degrees Celsius in the region of Central India i.e. Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Maharashtra, Gujarat and Karnataka may see a drop of two to four degrees Celsius in the next 5 days.
