PM Modi in Kuwait: Prime Minister Modi arrived in Kuwait for a two-day visit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached Kuwait for a two-day visit to the Gulf country. During this visit, Mr. Modi will also meet the Indian expatriate community in addition to interacting with the Kuwaiti leaders. Modi has gone there on the invitation of the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. Mr. Modi’s visit to Kuwait is the first visit of an Indian Prime Minister to this desert country in the last 43 years. In a statement issued before leaving for Kuwait, Mr. Modi said that his talks with the top leadership of Kuwait will be an opportunity to prepare a framework for future partnership between the two countries. Before this, Mrs. Indira Gandhi visited Kuwait in 1981. Kuwait is one of India’s top trading partners, with India’s bilateral trade worth $10.47 billion in FY 2023-24. Kuwait is India’s sixth largest supplier of crude oil, meeting 3 percent of India’s energy needs. -News-Patiala
