“The civil defense has confirmed nine deaths, there are no survivors on the plane,” Kleber dos Santos Lima, director of the state civil police’s internal police department, told AFP.

According to officials, it was a Piper Cheyenne 400 turboprop aircraft. Officials have not confirmed how many passengers and crew members were on board.
