BJP MP Bharathari Mehtab has been considered for the chairmanship of the joint parliamentary committee to examine two constitutional amendment bills related to ‘One Country One Election’. Official sources said that seeing Mehtab’s parliamentary experience, he can be entrusted with this important responsibility. He has been a member of the Lok Sabha for seven times from Orissa and he is currently the head of the Standing Committee of the Ministry of Finance. Mehtab is one of the ten BJP MPs who have been placed in the 21-member proposed Joint Parliamentary Committee to look into bills related to ‘One Country One Election’. Anurag Thakur and PP Chaudhary are also included in this committee among other BJP members. -News-Patiala
