The company said the four were treated immediately but could not be saved. The company has announced a compensation of Rs 30 lakh to each deceased’s family. Inspector BS Patidar of Dahej police station said that on Saturday around 10 pm, the employees of Gujarat Fluorochemical Limited (GFL) fell unconscious due to the leakage of poisonous gas from the pipe in a production unit. He said that they were taken to a private hospital but all four died. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem and investigation is on, the official said. According to the police, the deceased have been identified as Bharus resident Rajesh Kumar Magandiya (48), Mudrika Yadav (29) resident of Jharkhand’s Adhora and Suchit Prasad (39) and Mahesh Nandalal (25) resident of Sonbhadra in Uttar Pradesh. GFL said in a media statement that the incident took place on Saturday night around eight o’clock and the team immediately detected the gas leak and contained it. -News-Patiala
