New Delhi, 22 December

Air pollution in Delhi today was recorded as very bad and the air quality was recorded in the ‘severe’ category. The Air Quality Index (AQI) of the national capital stood at 409 today, while it was 370 a day ago on Saturday. The maximum temperature here was recorded at 24.1 degrees Celsius, three notches above normal. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said the minimum temperature was 7.3 degrees Celsius. Foggy conditions prevailed in the capital this morning, keeping the humidity level between 68 and 97 per cent. On the other hand, the Meteorological Department has predicted light rain and cloudy weather on December 23. The maximum and minimum temperature of Delhi is expected to be 20 and 7 degrees Celsius respectively.

Pollution has once again increased in the capital Delhi and NCR. People are facing breathing problems and other problems due to the ever-increasing pollution here. At the beginning of this month, there was some relief from pollution in the capital, but as the cold has increased, so has the pollution.

Due to this AQI in Delhi is continuously increasing. Three days ago, the AQI crossed 450 due to fog in the morning. According to the Central Pollution Control Board, there is no possibility of getting much relief from pollution for a few days. News-Patiala
