Delhi polls: ‘AAP’ has also released the final list of candidates for the Delhi elections

New Delhi, December 15

Delhi polls: The ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has also released the final list of its candidates for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections on Sunday, which includes the names of 38 candidates. Releasing this list, party supremo Arvind Kejriwal targeted the BJP and alleged that the saffron party has no face of the chief minister.

AAP released the final list of its 38 candidates for the assembly elections to be held in February. In this, Kejriwal has been fielded from New Delhi constituency and at the same time Chief Minister Atishi has been made a candidate again from Kalkaji. This announcement was made by party chief Kejriwal through a post on the social media platform ‘X’.

In a post on X in Hindi, Kejriwal said, “The party is fighting the elections with full confidence and full preparation. BJP is missing. They have no chief ministerial face, no team, no planning and no vision for Delhi. They have only one slogan, only one policy and only one mission – ‘Remove Kejriwal’. Ask them what they did in five years and they reply, ‘Abusing Kejriwal a lot’.”

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has not yet announced its candidates. It is said that the party is thinking of fielding Parvesh Verma, son of former Delhi Chief Minister late Sahib Singh Verma, against Kejriwal in New Delhi. Meanwhile, the Congress has announced 21 candidates, including former Chief Minister Late Sheila Dixit’s son Sandeep Dixit, who will challenge former Chief Minister Kejriwal in the New Delhi constituency.

Kejriwal has on several occasions denied any alliance with the Congress in these elections, although both parties are part of the India Bloc. As part of its campaign to come to power for the third consecutive term in the national capital, AAP has fielded its senior leaders. According to this list, Environment Minister Gopal Rai will contest from Babarpur Constituency, Health Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj from Greater Kailash and former Health Minister Satyendra Jain from Shakur Basti. Apart from this, Ministers Raghuvinder Shoukin and Mukesh Kumar Ahlawat will be AAP candidates from Nangloi Jat and Sultanpur Majra respectively.

According to the list released earlier, former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has been announced as the candidate from Jangpura, while the new candidate Awadh Ojha will contest from Patparganj, Sisodia’s previous seat. Congress has fielded Anil Kumar from Patparganj.

In the previous 2020 elections, AAP won 62 out of 70 seats in Delhi. The upcoming elections will also be a major test of the party’s governance model and its credibility among the voters. -News-Patiala
