Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar broke his silence on the notice of no-confidence motion against him by the opposition parties and described this move by the opposition parties as a hasty action. He said it is like using a rusty knife for bypass surgery. Addressing the function of Women Journalist Welfare Trust at Vice President’s Enclave here, Dhankhar said, “Look at the notice given against the Vice President. Check out the six links they provide. You will be surprised. Chandra Shekharji once said, “Never use a vegetable cleaver for bypass surgery.” This notice was not even a vegetable cutter; It was rusted. They were in a hurry. When I read this (notice), I was shocked. But what surprised me was that none of you read it. If you had studied, you would not have slept for days.” He said, “Any constitutional post should be validated by excellence, sterling qualities and commitment to constitutionalism. We are not in a position to pit against each other here. Because for the success of democracy, two things are indispensable: expression and dialogue.”
