Two assailants shot and killed a Congress worker in Jamshedpur city of Jharkhand today. The police gave this information.
A police official said that the deceased has been identified as 28-year-old Alok Kumar Bhagat alias Munna. He was standing near his house in Shastri Nagar area of Kadma police station area, when two motorcycle-borne assailants approached him and opened fire.
Kumar suffered four bullet injuries and was taken to the local Tata Main Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead, the official said. The accused have been identified but no arrest has been made yet. The officer said that one of the accused is a neighbor of Bhagat and there was animosity between them earlier. Both the accused have a criminal record.
He told that Alok Kumar was married recently. Bhagat’s name was included in an FIR registered for beating up an opposition party activist in Shastrinagar during the Jharkhand Assembly elections. -News-Patiala
