Inter Miami confirmed on Monday that they will be playing a preseason match against Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr FC on February 1st in Saudi Arabia. This highly anticipated clash will mark the latest chapter in the iconic rivalry between Messi and Ronaldo, two of the greatest footballers of all time.
Prior to their encounter with Al-Nassr, Inter Miami will also face Al-Hilal on January 29th.
“This is another major opportunity to create lasting relationships with passionate fans,” said Inter Miami chief business officer Xavier Asensi. “We are excited to connect with new supporters in Saudi Arabia, and also hope people all over the world will be tuning in to see a pair of dream matches like these.”
This will be Inter Miami’s first international tour, marking a significant milestone for the club. While their participation in the Riyadh Season Cup was initially denied back in November, confirmation has now been given, much to the delight of football fans worldwide.
The match between Messi and Ronaldo presents a rare opportunity to witness one of the greatest rivalries in sports history play out one last time. During their respective periods at Barcelona and Real Madrid, the two legends clashed 35 times, with Messi holding a slight edge with 16 wins to Ronaldo’s 10. Messi also boasts superior scoring and assist numbers in their head-to-head encounters.
