Patiala, Punjab: Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Balbir Singh conducted a series of meetings with officials of the civic body and district administration on November 3, 2023 to review the progress of development projects in rural wards and villages and to discuss measures to control the spread of dengue.
Dr. Singh directed officials to ensure that all work is completed within the stipulated time and that the online dashboard provided by his department is used to monitor progress. He also announced that the cleaning of sewers in the city using the super suction machine will begin this month.
In addition, Dr. Singh directed the Municipal Commissioner to conduct a ward-wise assessment of all work in the rural areas under his jurisdiction. He also ordered for the permanent resolution of street light problems in all wards and for the commencement of storm-water drainage work to address areas that face waterlogging during the rainy season.
Dr. Singh further stated that health and environment committees will be formed in every ward.
