Patiala DLSA Launches Vocational Literacy Program for Jail Inmates

The program will provide training in various fields, including horticulture, agriculture, phulkari, stitching, beautifying, and computer literacy.

The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) in Patiala, India, has launched a vocational literacy program for inmates in the district’s jails. The program, which will continue till October 20, will provide training in various fields, including horticulture, agriculture, phulkari, stitching, beautifying, and computer literacy.

The department will collaborate with concerned departments of the Punjab Government and the Training Institute, Presta Skills, to provide training in horticulture, agriculture, phulkari, stitching, and beautifying. For the computer training program, the authority has collaborated with Play Ways Senior Secondary School.

The main aim of the program is to provide skill-based training to the prisoners and develop self-confidence and self-esteem among them. It can also help them attain employment opportunities after their release from jail so that they may lead a respectable life in society.
