Patiala, August 4, 2023: The SDMs of Patiala district visited the affected villages today to inspect the ongoing girdavari work to provide compensation to the farmers for the damaged crops during the floods.
The SDMs, led by Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sahni, took stock of the girdavari work being done by the Patwaris, including the damage to the houses. They instructed the employees of the concerned departments to complete the work on time so that the affected people can be given compensation as soon as possible.
The SDMs said that the reports regarding the damage to the houses are ready and the compensation amount will be released soon.
Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sahni said that the entire district administration, including the SDMs of the district, is working to help the victims. She said that the Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department has prepared a paddy for those farmers whose crops have been damaged. She appealed to the farmers to contact the agriculture officer of their area for paddy and get free paddy.
