News Patiala, July 10, 2023: The Patiala District Administration has evacuated Urban Estate Phase-II and Chinar Bagh due to the rising water level in the Big River. The water level is expected to rise further during the night, so the district administration has taken this precautionary measure.
Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sahni said that people are being temporarily sheltered at Radha Swami Dera at Urban Estate. She appealed to the people to not panic and to cooperate with the district administration.
The following places have been reserved for homeless people during floods:
- Radha Swami Dera, Urban Estate
- Government School, Urban Estate
- Government College, Urban Estate
The district administration is closely monitoring the situation and will provide updates as needed.
