News Patiala 12 th July: Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has written to Punjab Governor Banwari Lal Purohit, requesting land to build an office in Chandigarh for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) after it was recognized as a national party by the Election Commission of India on April 10, 2023.
In his letter, Mann said that there is a provision to give land to all national parties and that the AAP is entitled to this provision. He also pointed out that the AAP is already recognized as a state party in Punjab, NCT of Delhi, Gujarat, and Goa.
Mann’s request for land has been met with mixed reactions. Some people have supported his request, saying that it is only fair that the AAP be given land to build an office since it is a national party. Others have criticized the request, saying that it is a waste of public money.
It remains to be seen whether the Governor will grant Mann’s request. However, the request has certainly generated a lot of discussion about the issue of land allocation to political parties.
