News Patiala:- 31 July- In a tragic revelation, a 12-year-old female student was sexually assaulted in Batala, at her school’s premises. The superintendent of the school, who was responsible for the safety and well-being of the students, was found to be the perpetrator behind this appalling act. Prompt action was taken by the police, and the accused has been taken into custody after a case was registered at the police station civil line.
According to DSP Lalit Kumar, the victim was a 12-year-old girl who hailed from Gurdaspur and was residing in the school’s hostel. Another student shared the room with her. One day, the young girl complained of a headache and was given a pill by the school madam to alleviate her discomfort. Subsequently, she fell asleep, only to wake up and find the superintendent fleeing her room.
The incident came to light after the victim’s parents sought medical attention for their daughter, and the shocking truth of the rape surfaced. Based on the statements provided by the victim and her family during the medical examination, the Batala police registered a case against the accused superintendent, leading to his arrest.
The heinous act committed by the school superintendent in Batala has left the community in shock and outrage.
