News Patiala: 31 July:- A Lady Constable, Babita (30), died after being hit by a truck while returning home from duty in Jaipur, Rajasthan. SI Sajjan Singh Gambhir was also seriously injured in the accident.
The accident took place on Niwaru Puliya late at night. Babita, a 2006 batch constable posted at Accident Police Station West, was returning home after finishing her duty. SI Sajjan Singh, who is posted in Mahila Thana South, was also present in the car.
The car collided with an oncoming truck. The truck driver left the truck on the spot and escaped.
The local people informed the police about the accident. Both the injured were sent to the hospital with the help of 108, but Babita was declared dead on arrival. SI Sajjan Singh is in a critical condition and is currently on ventilator.
Accident Police Station West has registered a case against the unknown truck driver and started the investigation.
