Maninder Singh Mani, a fugitive who escaped by climbing over the wall of Central Jail Patiala two days ago, has been arrested by the district police.
Mani, facing six cases including dacoity and robbery, came to jail on August 2. But only after a gap of ten days, he had escaped by jumping over the adjacent wall after climbing the roof of the jail in a very planned manner.
DSP Davinder Attri said that special teams were formed on the instructions of Patiala SSP Deepak Parik to arrest the said accused. According to which on August 14, Chamkaur Singh, in charge of Chowki Chhitanwala, along with the team, made a special blockade near village Faizgarh.
In this blockade, the accused was arrested along with the motorcycle. When the accused was searched, drug pills were also recovered from him. A case under the NDPS Act has been registered against the accused in Sadar Nabha police station.
The accused will be produced in court today. DSP Attri said that many cases have been registered against the accused and the accused is addicted to drugs.
A case has been registered against him at Tripuri Police Station, Patiala, and the police were looking for him. Today he has been caught by the police.
DSP City-2 Jaswinder Singh Tiwana, who heads the Tripuri police station, has confirmed.
