| Trees fell again in Chandigarh |
Chandigarh, July 13, 2022: A tree fell once again in Chandigarh on Wednesday. Two people were injured. The accident happened around 2 pm on Wednesday near the light point in Sector 22/23. A rickshaw puller and an employee of Chandigarh Municipal Corporation were involved in the accident.
Rickshaw puller Niranjan said he was crossing the road when a thick branch of a tree fell on the side of the road in Sector 22. He narrowly escaped the accident. He was wearing a cloth over his head. His hand was injured when a tree fell on him.
On the other hand, a cyclist heading towards Sector 17 from this road also sustained minor injuries. His bicycle was buried under the branches. Chandigarh Fire Brigade vehicles reached the spot, pulled the tree branches to one side and pulled out the bicycle from below.
It was learned that the cyclist was working in the municipal corporation and was going to the office. Police also rushed to the spot. Meanwhile, traffic police personnel were not seen here to control the traffic jam after the trees were cut down.
