National Doctors Day is celebrated in India on July 1 every year to recognize and thank doctors for their role, services, and contribution to serving the nation. It was started in the year 1991 to pay homage to Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, whose birth and death anniversary falls on July 1.
ਭਾਰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੌਮੀ ਡਾਕਟਰ ਦਿਵਸ, ਦੇਸ਼ ਸੇਵਾ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਡਾਕਟਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ, ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਨਤਾ ਦੇਣ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਹਰ ਸਾਲ 1 ਜੁਲਾਈ ਨੂੰ ਮਨਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਦਿਨ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਮਹਾਨ ਡਾਕਟਰ ਬਿਧਾਨ ਚੰਦਰ ਰਾਏ, ਜਿਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ ਅਤੇ ਬਰਸੀ 1 ਜੁਲਾਈ ਨੂੰ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਰਧਾਂਜਲੀ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ ਸਾਲ 1991 ਵਿੱਚ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ।
