To create a sense of security and a fear-free environment among the people, a flag march was conducted today under the leadership of the District Police Chief Mrs. Avneet Kaur at the public places of all the subdivisions of the district, Bazaar. A special checking campaign was started at bus stands, railway stations, and other adjacent inter-district borders. SP during the search operation and flag march. District Police Chief Mrs. Avneet Kaur said that rooting out drugs and criminal activities in the district is the main priority of the district police. Punjab Police is committed to taking concerted action day and night against drugs and criminal activities.
The SSP said that the relations between the police and the common citizens have to be improved to create a sense of trust in the police. For this purpose, this flag march and special checking campaign have been started. She said that SHOs should ensure to meet people in their police stations and be present in police uniforms within their areas.
Mrs. Sidhu has already issued instructions to monitor social media. She said that by coordinating with the district administration, vigilance is being used while keeping an eye on anti-social elements in the district. Any sensitive issue can be controlled in time before provoking people’s emotions and taking issue.
He said that in view of the current situation, people should be alert and immediately inform the police about any suspicious person or suspicious object. He appealed to the people not to believe any kind of rumors, and should confirm from the administrative officials about the information which seems to be wrong and untrue.
