Patiala News, March 9: International Women’s Day was celebrated on March 8, 2022, at Adarsh College of Nursing in honor of women. The chairman of the college, Dr. K.K Johri gave the speech. Dr. K.K Johri spoke about the significance of this day. Dr. Johri said that from time immemorial India has been a special place for women in the country. Mahila Shakti is worshiped here. When India was invaded in the 16th and 17th centuries, there was a lot of oppression of women. At that time women were not given due respect.
Since then, due to the social reform movements that have taken place at different times, women have been given equal status in society. At present women are leading in every field. Today, women are ahead of men in every field, including the President of India, the Prime Minister, the top positions in the Indian Army, pilots, engineers, doctors, scientists, and sports.
After this, the principal of the Adarsh College of Nursing Mrs. Jaya Davidu Shirshetty made the students aware of their rights. The drama was presented in this function and the equality of men and women in the society was explained. Awareness was created about the achievements of women in every field.
