Patiala News, January 20, 2022 – Dr. Sandeep Kumar Garg, IPS, Senior Captain Police Patiala informed that in view of forthcoming Assembly Elections 2022, on 20.01.2022, Sub-Division City-1 and Sub-Division City of District Patiala. Polling stations and polling booths in the areas of -2 were visited. These were reviewed keeping in view the security of these polling booths and polling stations.

Dr. Garg further informed that a flag march was carried out in the city along with paramilitary forces during the check. In District Patiala, full vigilance is being maintained by setting up 14 inter-state roadblocks. At the same time, special blockades are being carried out in the district keeping security in mind. 

 Following the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct form 08.01.2022, 41 cases were registered under Excise Act in District Patiala and 01 kilns, 913.875 liters of liquor, 171.750 liters of illicit liquor, 27 liters of English liquor, 90 liters of rum, and 2000 liters of Lahan were seized. And registered 12 cases under NDPS Act and seized 01 kg 750 gm of opium, 35 kg 900 gm of poppy powder, 14 gm of heroin, 23 gm of smack, 1510 drug pills/capsules, and 05 kg of cannabis. Has gone 

In addition, the firearms holders who have not yet surrendered their firearms were urged to deposit their firearms at the respective police station/gun houses immediately. Mr. Harpal Singh, PPS Captain Police City Patiala, Mr. Ashok Kumar, PPS Deputy Captain City-1 Patiala, and Mr. Mohit Agarwal, PPS Deputy Captain Police City-2 Patiala were also present on the occasion.
