Patiala News, 20 January 2022 The owner of a local Vardhman Hospital Patiala and a social activist, who had severed ties with AAP over allegations of selling Assembly tickets Saurabh Jain will now contest the elections independently. He will contest this election from Patiala rural constituency as per the pre-determined target. As a result, a regular constituency level election office has been opened today and he has also formally announced his candidature as an independent candidate.

It may be recalled that Saurabh Jain had been campaigning for some time with the intention of contesting elections. He joined AAP last month. Less than a month later, Saurabh Jain parted ways with AAP. The main reason is that they are allegedly asking for money for tickets. He had said that he was promised a ticket from Patiala rural constituency but from here Dr. Balbir Singh was given a ticket and he was rumored to be contesting from Patiala urban constituency.
In this way, Jain decided to sever ties with AAP and contest free elections. Under this, he has also formally opened his election office today to contest as an independent candidate. He says he is fighting this election to serve the public interest and solve people’s problems.
