The Central Government has issued new guidelines to prevent recurrent violations of communication guidelines at the government level. According to the rules laid down by the intelligence agencies, they have been issued to rectify the shortcomings. According to sources, government officials have been asked not to use WhatsApp, Telegram, etc. to share confidential information. The servers of these apps are run by private companies which are out of the country. Information can be used against anti-India forces.
The new guidelines also mention virtual meetings. Private apps such as Google Meet or Zoom have been asked not to hold online meetings. Government officials have been instructed to use the video conferencing platform developed by NIC on C-DAC. They will need to have a password for the chat room and voting room. IANS
