By 2030, the Amazon will be on the brink of deforestation, according to a report. This was released on Thursday by Brazil’s National Institute for Space Research (INPE). Between August 2020 and July 2021, 13,235 square kilometers (8,224 square miles) of forests were lost. This is an increase of 22% over the previous year.
