Chandigarh MC Polls Dry Days News Chandigarh Live

Dry days be observed from 22.12.2021 to 24.12.2021 (for whole days) 

On the counting day i.e. 27.12.2021 (for whole day). 

Whereas General Elections to Municipal Corporation of Chandigarh is scheduled to be held on 24″ December, 2021. Counting is scheduled to take place on 27th December 2021 in U.T. Chandigarh.  

In compliance with the directions of the State Election Commission, U.T. Chandigarh. There is a need to check the sale/service/consumption of liquor within Chandigarh.

As the same is likely to cause hindrance in the smooth conduct of peaceful, free & fair elections. Which may further lead to problems in maintaining law and order, public peace & tranquility. 

All liquor licensees (both wholesale & retailsale), hotel, eating house, tavern, shop or any other place, public or private within the polling area.  

Other establishments which have been issued licenses to sell/serve liquor are prohibited to sell/serve liquor during the above-mentioned period of dry days.
