In this regard, the spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said that the accused sub-inspector has been arrested. n the complaint of Harvinder Kumar, a resident of Longowal.
He said that the complainant had informed the Vigilance Bureau. In which he made an application to the police about the search for theft. The said sub-inspector has already taken a bribe of Rs 5,000 from him in return for taking action. Now asking for Rs 5,000 more to fill the form.
The spokesperson further said that a team of the Vigilance Bureau started action. After investigating the facts and original evidence in the complaint. The accused was caught red-handed after accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000 from the complainant in the presence of two government witnesses.
In this regard, a case has been registered against the said police officer under the Prevention of Corruption Act. This case has been registered in the Vigilance Bureau’s Patiala police station. Finally, the Vigilance Bureau has started further investigation of the matter.
