The government has refused to revise interest rates on PPF and NSC and other small savings schemes for the first quarter of the new year. According to the notification issued by the Ministry of Finance, “There has been no change in interest rates on small savings schemes for the fourth quarter of the financial year 2024-25. 8.2 percent interest will be charged on the capital deposited under the Sukanya Samridhi scheme while 7.1 percent interest will be charged on the deposited capital for three years. Interest rates for Provident Fund and Post Office Savings Schemes will remain at 7.1 percent and 4 percent respectively. The interest rate on Kisan Vikas Patra will be 7.5 percent and this investment will mature in 115 months. The interest rate on NSC for the period January-March 2025 will be 7.7 percent. -News-Patiala
