Center rejects appeal of Manmohan Singh’s family: Sukhbir Badal

The government has announced that Dr. Manmohan Singh will be cremated with state honors at Nigambodh Ghat on Saturday.

Sukhbir Badal wrote in a post on X, “It is condemnable that the central government has Dr. It has refused to accede to the appeal of Manmohan Singh’s family to cremate him at a place where a befitting and historic memorial can be built to commemorate his outstanding contribution to the nation.”

Sukhbir Badal said that this place should be Rajghat. “It will be contrary to the established tradition followed in the past,” he said. Badal said that it was not understandable why the government was showing such disrespect to a great leader who was about to ascend to the post of prime minister. are the only members of the Sikh community.

Sukhbir Badal wrote that for the time being, the last rites will be performed at Nigam Bodh Ghat. He said, “Despite our political differences with the Congress, we have always supported Dr. Manmohan Singh has been respected a lot because he is beyond politics and political connections.
