Efforts to rescue a three-and-a-half-year-old girl who fell into a borewell on December 23 in Rajasthan’s Kotputli are continuing and have reached a critical stage. Despite the challenges, disaster relief workers are hopeful of evacuating the girl on Thursday. Teams of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and officials including the local administration have rushed to the spot.
Speaking to reporters, Yogesh Kumar Meena, in-charge of the NDRF team, said that they will have to dig 170 meters deep to reach the trapped girl. Excavated with piling machine and up to 160 meters have been excavated.. Hope we will complete this (rescue operation) today.
Earlier on Tuesday, the personnel of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team had pulled the trapped girl up to 30 feet with the help of clips. Sub-Divisional Magistrate Brajesh Chaudhary said on Tuesday that the rescue team’s priority is to save the child alive. – ANI
