Farmer Protest: General Secretary of All India Congress Committee, former Union Minister and Member of Parliament from Sirsa, Bibi Selja, expressed concern over the deteriorating health of farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal due to his death fast and said that the government and especially Prime Minister Narendra Modi should take appropriate measures in this direction. Steps should be taken and demands of farmers should be considered. Dallewal himself has written an open letter to the Prime Minister raising 13 demands including the Minimum Support Price MSP Guarantee Act but the government is not ready to listen to the farmers, the government has made the border of Punjab and Haryana as India-Pakistan border. is Instead of listening to the farmers, the government is pelting them with water and firing tear gas shells.

In a statement released to the media, Kumari Shelaja said that the health of farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal, who is on a death fast at the Khanuri border, is continuously deteriorating and his condition is alarming. The government should leave its stand and talk to the farmers and solve their problems. The same government had ended the farmers’ agitation by promising to implement the minimum support price, but the government has forgotten the promise it made to the farmers. If the government has even an iota of respect for the constitution, it should accept the fact that it promised the farmers to implement the minimum support price.

He said that BJP is engaged in benefiting capitalists instead of farmers. This government is not understanding the plight of farmers and workers. Farmers should get minimum support price for crops. When the farmers are going to Delhi to express their plight, the Haryana government is bullying them. He said that the use of water cannons, tear gas and rubber bullets on the farmers is inhumane by the Haryana government and is a proof of the government’s dictatorship.
