A free electricity scheme has been implemented in Punjab. The Bhagwant Mann government of the state has issued a notification about this scheme today. According to the notification, 300 units of electricity will be provided free of cost to every house in the state in a month.
In this way, people will get 600 units of free electricity on their bill every two months. Under the scheme, domestic consumers will get the benefit of free electricity. Along with this, it has been clarified in the notification that political people will not get the benefit of free electricity. Among the government employees, only the fourth category employees will get the benefit of this scheme.

The Aam Aadmi Party had promised to provide 300 units of electricity to every house every month during the Punjab Assembly elections. Recently, during the budget session of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha, it was announced to implement this scheme from July 1, but due to the non-issue of notification in this regard, discussions continued many times. This created an atmosphere of uncertainty among the people about the plan.
