News Patiala, July 10: Heavy rain has created a flood-like situation in Punjab, forcing the state government to close all schools till July 13.
The decision was taken in view of the security of students and teachers, as well as to prevent any accidents due to waterlogging.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has directed the Education Department to ensure that all schools are closed and no student or teacher is allowed to venture out.
The state government has also set up a helpline number (1800-180-0053) for people affected by the floods.
