For some time now, the demand for other Apple products including iPhone has increased significantly. Due to this, a lot of fake products are also being sold. If you buy a product from an unknown person or unauthorized seller on the internet, there may be a chance of it being fake. However, there are many easy ways by which you can find out whether your iPhone or any other Apple product is fake. Let us know some such easy methods.
Find out by serial number
The serial number of the device can determine whether it is genuine or fake. For this, go to General in the settings of your device and tap on About. Enter the serial number shown here on Apple’s coverage page. Here you will see the model number, warranty and purchase details of the device. If invalid serial number is being shown here then it means that your device may be fake. This method will work on all Apple devices.
Pairing will reveal
Pairing can also tell whether an Apple Watch is real or fake. A genuine Apple Watch can be paired through the Watch app on an iPhone, but if a watch goes into Bluetooth settings or connects through a third-party app, it may be a fake.
Find out the original charger and cable like this
Original Apple chargers and cables will have the text Designed by Apple in California along with its assembly location and a 12-digit serial number. Original Apple cables are smooth, round and single piece. If a cable is not like this then it may be fake.
Avoid buying if you see these signs
- If someone is luring you with a cheap price to buy a product, then be cautious.
- If a seller is not allowing you to check the product before buying, then understand that something may be wrong.
- Authentic resellers retain the papers and boxes associated with the product. If any seller is not giving you bill, warranty card or other documents then be cautious.
