Childhood passed in the misery, night spent on the streets, only 1 film made in life, the national award broke down

New Delhi. Anurag Kashyap is the director of Bollywood who is known for films out of the box. Anurag Kashyap laid the foundation of different types of films in Hindi cinema from Gangs of Wasseypur. In a recent interview, the director said while talking about where the inspiration to make such films comes from. He says that he takes a lot of inspiration from the filmmakers of China and Korea who do not give up the passion to make good films despite such restrictions. The legendary director believes that there have been many such filmmakers in Bollywood too, but no one talks much about them and one such filmmaker is Avatar Kaul.

Avatar Kaul, the names of Hindi cinema which most people may not even know. He made only one film in his 35 -year career. But that film is also such that no one can forget it. This film received the National Award. Its name was 27 down. Filmmaker Avatar Kaul died a few hours after the film announced the National Award.

At the age of 35, he left this world forever, but on the go, he opened a path to cinema which became a mirror of society. Born in Srinagar in 1939, Avatar Kaul’s childhood was difficult. His childhood was completely opposite to every dream that every child sees in his childhood. His father was an example of Khathorta, he used to take him out in his childhood.

Night spent on platform

In an article written for The Wire, Vinod Kaul recalled his uncle’s early life and wrote, ‘Avatar as the eldest brother in Delhi faced his father’s cruelty. One day his father, in anger, threw him out of the house and warned him to never come back. Due to no shelter, Avatar was forced to sleep on the Delhi Railway platform and had to work at the tea shop to live, his younger brothers remember those days with the same fear and pain that he realized when he saw the situation and disappointing condition of Avatar’s skeleton.

He further said with pain that no one of his family could go further to help him for fear of his father. In 1970, Avatar returned to India and worked on Merchant/Ivory Productions film Bombay Talki. He directed just one film 27 Down.

Avatar Kaul’s nephew told about his life and said that the directors always kept their family at the forefront. Director Avatar Kaul, who left the world after the first film, had scripts of three films before dying. Meke Raina expressed grief over his death and said that if he were alive, he might have left a profound impact on the film industry.
