How does this sensor work?
This sensor has a light emitter and receiver. Light travels from the emitter towards the object and comes back and is received at the receiver. With this the algorithm detects the distance between the camera and the object. It is more useful in taking photos and using AR apps in low light conditions. The black dot on the sensor is a protective layer, which absorbs visible light, but near-infrared light passes through it.
