Donald Trump News: A new debate has started in international politics about the US President Donald Trump. In the latest development, Trump not only launched military action against Venezuela and arrested President Nicolás Maduro, but also declared himself the acting president of Venezuela. This has deepened the question whether Trump has now started considering himself a king while ignoring the sovereignty of other countries. Trump described himself as the “acting president of Venezuela” in a post on his social media platform, Truth Social. The post comes days after an executive order strengthening U.S. control over Venezuela’s oil revenues in the future.

The order protects Venezuelan oil revenues held in the U.S. from seizure, but mandates their use in accordance with U.S. foreign policy priorities. The White House says the move is aimed at ensuring Venezuela’s oil revenues are used for “peace, prosperity and stability.” However, critics argue that this is actually an outright seizure of oil. US companies such as Exxon Mobil and ConocoPhillips already have billions of dollars in pending claims against Venezuela.

Trump told the situation of Venezuela

Trump also said Sunday that things are going “good” in Venezuela. He said that the conversation with Acting President Delsey Rodrigues was positive. According to Trump, Venezuela is ready to supply the US with 50 million barrels of oil worth about $4.2 billion, and this oil is being shipped to the US. Trump also said that he would personally control this money.

Marco Rubio nominated President of Cuba

Meanwhile, Trump took another surprising step. He re-shared a post on social media that described US Secretary of State Marco Rubio as the next president of Cuba. Trump replied, “I like it.” However, there are no official US plans for such a move. Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez reacted strongly to the statement, calling the US an “uncontrollable criminal power”. Trump has already warned Cuba that it will no longer receive Venezuelan oil or money, and that it would be better to reach a deal quickly.
