UPSC NDA 1 2026: Who Can Apply?

For Army branch of NDA, 12th pass from a recognized board is required. However, for Air Force and Navy wings as well as NA (INAC) 10+2 cadet entry scheme, 12th pass with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) is required. If you are currently studying in class 12, you can still apply, but you will need to show your class 12 certificate. Election will be valid only after passing.

Regarding age, candidates should be between 16.5 and 19.5 years of age ie, born before July 2, 2007 and not after July 1, 2010. Only unmarried men and women can apply. A physical test will also be conducted.

How many posts are available in Army, Navy and Air Force?

This year, NDA has a total of 394 vacancies for Army, Navy and Air Force wings.

There are 208 posts in the NDA Army, out of which 198 are for boys and 10 are for girls. Navy has 37 posts for boys and 5 posts for girls. Thus, there are a total of 42 posts in the Navy. There are 92 flying posts in the Air Force, of which 2 are for girls and 90 are for boys. There are 18 posts in Ground Duty (Technical), 16 posts for boys and 2 posts for girls. Similarly, Ground Duty (Non-Technical) has 10 posts, 8 for boys and 2 for girls. There are 24 posts in NA (10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme), out of which 21 are for boys and 3 are for girls. In total, there are 370 posts for boys and 24 posts for girls. These vacancies are for 157th NDA Course and 119th NA INAC Course.

How to fill form: Free for SC/ST/Girls

The application is completely online. Visit the UPSC website, upsc.gov.in or upsconline.nic.in. Download and read the notification. If you have not registered for OTR before, register first. Then, start filling NDA and NA (I) 2026 form. Enter your personal details, education and address. Upload your photo and signature. Fee for General/OBC boys is ₹100. Applications are free for SC/ST, Girls and JCO/NCO/OR wards. The last date is December 30, 2025 by 6:00 PM. After submitting the form, print the confirmation page.

Selection Process: Written Exam, SSB, Medical

Selection will be done in two phases. The first written test will carry 300 marks for Mathematics and 600 marks for General Aptitude Test, making it a total of 900 marks. This exam will be offline on April 12, 2026. Passers will be called for SSB interview. It will include tests of intelligence, personality and physical fitness. After this, document verification and medical test will be done. On passing, they will get training in NDA/NA.

How much will the salary be?

During training at NDA, cadets will get a monthly stipend of ₹56,100. Upon completion of training, you will receive the same salary as a lieutenant, flying officer, or sub-lieutenant. In addition, you will get Military Service Pay (MSP) of ₹15,500 per month. You will also get DA, uniform allowance and field allowance. You will also get a secure job, pension and promotions throughout your life.
