Cold and fog is increasing continuously across North India. Seeing this, the Prayagraj district administration has decided to change the school timings. This step has been taken keeping in mind the safety and health of the students. On the direction of District Magistrate Manish Kumar Verma, District Basic Education Officer (BSA) Anil Kumar issued an official order in this regard.

As per the order, schools up to class VIII of all the boards running in Prayagraj district will now open from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The order applies to council primary, upper primary and composite schools as well as government, non-government aided and recognized schools. Additionally, schools up to class VIII affiliated to CBSE, ICSE and all other boards will also need to follow this directive.

BSA Anil Kumar has directed all the school administrators and principals of the district to ensure strict compliance of this order. If any negligence is found, appropriate action will be taken against the concerned school.

Will remain in force until further orders

The administration believes that extreme cold and fog in the morning may cause difficulties for young children to go to school, which may adversely affect their health. Keeping this in mind, this temporary change in school timings has been made. This order shall remain in force till further instructions. More information will be released as weather conditions improve. Parents have also been urged to follow the instructions of the administration and take special care to ensure the safety of their children.
