The National Gatka Association of India (NGAI), the country’s highest national Gatka body recognized by the World Gatka Federation, is organizing the 2nd Federation Gatka Cup-2025 from November 7 to 9 at Bangalore City University, Bangalore, Karnataka, in which the best young Gatkai warriors of India will showcase their skills in exciting jangju competitions.
NGAI Advocacy Harjit Singh Grewal, President, and Sukhchain Singh Kalsani, Vice-President, International Sikh Martial Arts Council, informed here today that in these annual national competitions, teams from ten states will participate in individual and team competitions in Gatka Soti and Fari-Soti events in the age group below 19 years. He said that the event organized under the auspices of World Gatka Federation (WGF) and Asian Gatka Federation (AGF) will be held along with other National Cultural Pythian Games where the culture and heritage of India will be showcased.
Gatka promoters Grewal and Kalsani said that this second Federation Gatka Cup will bring out the talent of the new generation of Gatka players. He said that the gold medalist from Bengaluru will get a direct ticket to represent India in the first International Pythian Cultural Games to be held in Moscow next year in 2026, which will prove to be a big step in Gatke’s global journey.
