Whatsapp New Feature: Meta-owned WhatsApp is now preparing to curb the increasing spam and unwanted messages in chats. The company is testing a new feature that may soon limit those who repeatedly send messages to users who do not reply.
New limit feature for spam control
According to the report of WABetaInfo, this feature of WhatsApp has been designed to make chatting more balanced and real. After its launch, this rule will be applicable to both ordinary users and business accounts. If a user repeatedly messages a person who is not responding, he may face a limit on sending messages.
WhatsApp will also send a notification alert for this, telling you whether you are near or have crossed your monthly message limit. With this, users will be able to easily track their chat patterns.
Exceeding the limit may result in a temporary ban
Under the new feature, a new option will also be added to the app’s settings through which users will be able to see how many new chats they have started this month. The thing to note is that this limit will not be applicable on ongoing chats, that is, you can chat without any restriction with the people with whom you are already talking. But if a user goes beyond this limit then he can be temporarily blocked from sending messages to unknown people. Also, messages that are replied to will not be counted towards the limit, meaning active chats will not be affected.
Many efforts have been made in the past to reduce spam.
WhatsApp has been continuously bringing new features on its platform for the last few years to stop spam and fake messaging. Users now get easy options to block anyone, unsubscribe from marketing updates, and leave unwanted groups. Besides, a limit has also been set for sending bulk messages to new accounts so that the platform cannot be misused.
