New Delhi, Feb 25:
1984 Anti-Sikh Riots Case: A Delhi court had sentenced to the former Congress MP Sajjan Samaj Sajman Kumar in a murder case regarding Sikh riots on Tuesday. Special Judge Cauvery Baweja announced in November 1, 1984 in case of the alleged assassination of Jaswant Singh and his son Tarundeep Singh. The wife and the prosecution of the complainant Jaswant had sought death penalty for Kumar.
The murder crime was a maximum death penalty, while at least punishment was life imprisonment. It may be recalled that the court had convicted Sajjan Kumar for a crime on February 12. Kumar is currently closed in Tihar Jail. –News-Patiala
