Tirupati temple stampede in Tirupati temple, six devotees died

Six devotees, including three women, were killed while several others were injured in a stampede at the Lord Venkateswara Swamy temple here. The police officer said that hundreds of devotees were jostling for tickets for Vaikuntha Dwar Darshanam at the Lord Venkateswara Swamy Temple located on the Tirumala Hills when a stampede broke out. Hundreds of devotees from all over the country have arrived for the 10-day Vaikunth Door Darshanam starting from January 10. The official has confirmed the death of six people including three women in the stampede. Meanwhile, the video of the police giving CPR to some women pilgrims and taking the injured in ambulances has also gone viral. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has expressed grief over this incident. -News-Patiala
