Tirupati stampede: President Draupadi Murmu expressed grief over the Tirupati stampede incident in Andhra Pradesh and expressed his condolences to the bereaved families. It may be mentioned that six people were killed and 40 others were injured due to the stampede at the Lord Venkateswara Swamy temple.

He said that it was sad to know that many pilgrims lost their lives due to the stampede in Tirupati. President Murmu said in a social media platform ‘X’ post on Thursday morning, “I express my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and pray for the speedy recovery of the injured.

On the other hand, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu will meet the families of the deceased. It is worth noting that last night during the distribution of ‘Darshan’ tokens, six people died and many others were injured due to a stampede near Vishnu Nivasam. Earlier on Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief over the loss of life and said that the state government is providing all possible assistance to the victims of the incident.

Vaikuntha Dwar Darshan at Tirumala Sri Venkateswara Temple starts from 10th to 19th January. TTD announced that offline tokens will be issued for Darshan from today, 9 token distribution centers will be set up in Tirupati. Pilgrims from various parts of the country arrived in large numbers from Wednesday morning to collect the tokens, but by the end of the day, huge crowds had gathered at all the centres. ANI
